Simbu’s Vaalu has taken off and people are wondering how his combination with Santhanam will pan out. Sources state that Vaalu will be a quickie and may even release before the actor’s action flick Vettai Mannan. Says Simbu, “Yes, we’ll be finishing work on Vaalu and release it for Deepavali. As it’s a proper Chennai script, we’ll be shooting majority of the talkie portions in the city only.”He adds, “I loved the script as it was had a very simple and humorous approach and was very different from the genres (romance and action) that I’m currently doing.” A couple of dialogues (especially a similar one from Padikathavan) in the comic flick have created a stir among fans as it comes across like the actor’s hitting out at Dhanush. Quiz Simbu about this and he says, “It’s nothing like that; it’s just part of the dialogues in the film.”

    A slight delay in the schedule of his Vettai Mannan has brought Vaalu to the forefront. “We’re done with 50 percent of the film but have to shoot abroad,” he explains, “That’ll be a 25-day schedule and should happen sometime in August. So before that, we’ll finish most of Vaalu.”
