Mahath: I'm from a non -filmy background and Simbu was my only friend who was in the industry. Then, I got introduced to Dhayanidhi Azhagiri and we hit off quite well. He was the one who encouraged me when I wanted to get into films. As I was close to Simbu, I got a chance to visit shooting spots. I've also seen TR uncle when he would shoot his films. I saw the amount of hard work they put in, and I determined to put in a lot of hard work to make it big. I took up acting courses, and started seeing a lot of films.

A DREAM NEST FOR STR
Being a Tamilian myself. I understand the significance of Tamil New Year's day. It's a special day
for my family as we get together and indulge in the festivities. I also look forward to watching the new
movies with my friends.
Shooting for vettai mannan is going on in full swing and I am off to Hong Kong to complete
the scenes for poda podi. This year is also going to be memorable because I am getting my 'dream house ready'. The construction should be done in three or four months and this is a gift to my parents. I made sure I got everyone's suggestion with regard to designing the rooms and personalising the space.
I can't wait to move in with my parents.
It's no longer news that Siddharth - Shruti Haasan - Hansika Motwani starrer Telugu flick 'Oh My Friend' is getting dubbed in Tamil and is releasing as 'Sridhar'. The latest is that Siddharth has put his foot down and refused to dub for the movie!
The actor wrote on his microblogging page, "Guys there's no way I'm going back to a dubbing theatre to dub a new language version of any of my older films. No way! Not now. Not ever".
The makers are now left with no option other than finding a new voice for their hero.

The makers are planning to release the music on October 19th. It is sure to be a glitzy affair. Osthi may just hit the screens for Diwali. In the meantime the fans can look forward to the album.
The songs of 'Osthi' are said to be power-packed, like how STR's songs always are and sources vouch that 'Kalasalla...', an item number featuring STR, Mallika Sherawat and Sonu Sood and crooned by T Rajendar and LR Eswari will rocket up the charts.
The film's audio will be unveiled at a grand scale on October 6 along with a trailer release. 'Osthi' is the remake of Bollywood super hit 'Dabangg' that had Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha essaying the lead roles.
With a director who knows his commercial mantra like the back of his hand, Simbu who is at his mass best, a heroine who has shot to fame even before her debut, Mallika for an item number and Thaman with peppy tunes, 'Osthi' sure boasts off many USPs.
After teaming up with Dhanush in Maapillai, it’s Simbu’s turn to rope in the pretty girl, who has shed a few kilos in the interim.
The buzz is that Simbu wants her on board for his next, Vettai Mannan, produced by NIC Arts’ Chakravarthy and directed by STR’s friend Nelson.
The movie also has Jai in the lead with Deeksha Seth likely to play one of the heroines. It’s a gangster subject, with Hansika paired opposite STR.
Sources inform that the movie has been shot in the US and some European countries. A little birdie tells us that Hansika will be seen as a gangster in the movie. When DC contacted Hansika she confirmed signing the STR movie.
“Yes, I have signed the film and the script is fascinating.” When asked if she was playing a lady don in the film, the Velayudham star was all smiles and said, “I am not supposed to talk about the script.''

Grapevine is abuzz that Reliance Entertainments is trying to book theatres in the city for this Dharani directed venture! Simbu has expressed that the film will be a perfect package for Diwali as it has a mass appeal for all centers and has a bigger target audience.
Simbu recently crooned for the 'Pondati...' song in 'Osthi' and expressed through his microblogging page that all the songs have been completed. The film will see an audio and a trailer launch on October 6, when an official confirmation from Simbu and Dharani to the media in a formal press meet is expected.
Through the years it has been proven how films gain more revenue when it releases during a long holiday or festivals. Although four films have confirmed their slots for Diwali, 'Velayudham', '7aum Arivu', 'Osthi' and 'Mayakkam Enna', we'll have to wait to know which banner manages to get more theatre space, based on the target centers of course.

STR films always have at least one standout track and this is going to be it for Osthi. This particular track is already generating a lot of buzz even before it has been filmed and expectations are very high for it. The Osthe team has finally found a catchphrase for the ‘Munni’ song
It looks like Simbu and Dharani have decided on the word ‘Kalasala’ to be the catchphrase of the much-expected item song in their forthcoming Osthe. The item number was a chartbuster in the Hindi original (Dabanngg) and its Tamil equivalent has been constantly under the spotlight.
Says a source close to the development, “Yes, the song will have the term Kalasala as its buzz word. The word is used as a call for merriment. Director Dharani and Simbu finalized it recently and the song will be recorded shortly.” It is believed that Shruti Haasan will croon the ‘Kalasala’ number, which will be recorded by composer Thaman next week.
